Meet the midlands staff
Rick Palmer, Metro Director
Rick grew up in Columbia and graduated from Lower Richland HS. After serving as the youth minister at his church, he joined the YL staff team in Columbia in 2011. He pioneered our ministry to students in some of Columbia’s most under-resourced communities. In the Spring of 2020 he became the Metro Director of Midlands Young Life.
Jason Blackwell, Metro Developer
Jason is originally from Columbia, SC. He graduated from the Citadel in 2000 and has been on Young Life staff since 2003. Jason currently serves as the Metro Developer and leads Young Life at Ben Lippen High School.
